As of 27 August 2019 the examination phase of the West Midlands Interchange project has ended.
The Planning Inspectorate will now assess the information they have gathered, and make a recommendation to the Secretary of State for Transport on whether to refuse or grant consent to build the scheme. We expect a recommendation to be made in November 2019.
Following the inspectors recommendation, the Secretary of State has three months to make the decision on whether to grant the Development Consent Order. This means that we expect a decision to be made in February 2020.
