A449 Stafford Road traffic management

We’re improving safety and traffic flow on the A449 Stafford Road by building new laybys.

Here’s what you need to know:

Lane Closures: 24/7 single lane closures in both directions will remain in place until the construction of the new laybys is completed in Summer 2025.

We are continuing with earthworks across the site and will shortly need to move a large volume of soil into the Croft Lane Community Park from the main site on the A5

Material will be moved from our main site to the community park where we will strip the topsoil, remove existing material to make room for the transported material, and deposit the transported material before sealing and recovering with the retained topsoil.

This work is programmed to commence from 24 March and is expected to continue for four weeks. Our working hours will be 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, with occasional working on a Saturday if this is required.

Traffic management will not be required, however local residents may experience an increase in noise due to the proximity of your property to the work. We thank you for your patience and we would like to reassure you that we will ensure any disruption to residents is minimised.
