Managed directly by South Staffordshire Council, local community projects can now apply for up to £10,000 per application. Projects that could potentially be eligible for grants are schemes and initiatives that enhance public spaces and facilities or initiatives that maximise the public use of the two 109-acre community parks.

Leader of South Staffordshire District Council, Councillor Roger Lees, said: “I’m delighted our residents will be able to benefit from this funding. The money will be available to assist with a range of community and local issues, so I’d absolutely encourage anyone within the inclusion area to find out more when further details are released and make the most of this scheme.

Community Parks

As part of the development, we will be creating and maintaining two new community parks, totalling 109 acres (44 hectares). We asked the local community to share how they would like the parks to look and what they would like included and this feedback has been incorporated into the design. We are currently finalising the design in preparation to start work on the parks.

We will be creating over 18 hectares of additional woodland, alongside hedgerow and tree planting, and retaining circa. 12 hectares of farmland to the south of the development to provide an enhanced habitat for farmland birds.
