WMI Community Fund worth £65,000, now available for local community projects

5 March 2024

As part of WMI’s commitment to support local community projects, a £65,000 funding stream has been made available to those within a 3-mile radius of the site, covering the following parish locations:

  1. Brewood and Coven
  2. Penkridge
  3. Huntington and Hatherton
  4. Featherstone
  5. Shareshill
  6. Saredon

Managed directly by South Staffordshire Council, local community projects can now apply for up to £10,000 per application. Projects that could potentially be eligible for grants are schemes and initiatives that enhance public spaces and facilities or initiatives that maximise the public use of the two 109-acre community parks.

The two community parks will become a place for people to enjoy while delivering environmental improvements that deliver long-term benefits for the landscape, habitats and the wildlife that live there.

Leader of South Staffordshire District Council, Councillor Roger Lees, said: “I’m delighted our residents will be able to benefit from this funding. The money will be available to assist with a range of community and local issues, so I’d absolutely encourage anyone within the inclusion area to find out more when further details are released and make the most of this scheme.”
